I think that Barry Schwartz’s essay is spot on. He speaks about how parents and students alike are discovering that their kids, no matter how hard they try cannot get into their top schools/ very good schools. (Harvard, Yale, Stanford) They are now trying to start their kids off right, by entering them into the best preschools, elementary schools and high schools in order to better their chance in getting into a top rated school. Schwartz explains this in his article and it really is quite true. High school students are stressing out more than ever, trying to do well to get into good schools. The pressure really is on because it is more competitive than ever to get into these good colleges. I think this article really speaks the truth about today’s steps to getting a good education.
I think that with all the stress that comes along with the college process and education process in general, colleges must do something to help parents and students deal with this stress and hopefully alleviate it all together. Colleges, such as Harvard, Yale and Stanford, could not only select “the usual” students, but also add in a few that would normally consider themselves “not good enough” for that kind of education. I think this would make students feel better about themselves and give them more initiative to work hard in school. Colleges could also hold sessions that could lower the stress level of students and parents. They could ensure them that their education will be taken care of and that they should not worry about too much. They could discuss any aspects that are causing stress and try their best to alleviate it. This is very important because this could effect student’s health and their entire lives.

Accounting Class. :) hahaha
In 2009 a list was created by Time Magazine which featured the top 100 inventions of 2009. Many of these inventions caught my eye. There were many good ones and many of them quite helpful to our world, such as a possible AIDS vaccine, new and rare form of Tuna, the electronic eye, and the solar panel shingles and one the coolest ones of the “living wall.” I thought that last invention mentioned was quite exciting and fun. I would definitely like to live on the inside of it and look out my window and have it there. Many of these inventions were very good and very useful and some would really improve people’s lives. I ended up choosing as the best one was the Energy Hub. This was one the most useful. It had a direct purpose and it was a purpose that would actually help and improve your life. Even though quite small, this device does a lot for you. It is put into your house and is hooked up. Once settled in, it monitors the energy being used in your home. It not only tracks it, but also tells you how much is being used on certain devices and tells how much you are spending. This helps you and your home become “greener”, money wise and environment wise. This little device would help you to save money and the environment. I think that this was a very great helpful device out of the couple that were talked about. It does the most for you and really can improve our world for the better.
